Leaning on the Everlasting Arms of God

A great English evangelist named Henry Moorhouse was given a tender reminder of how God cares for His children. Henry came home one day to have his daughter, Minnie, who was paralyzed, sitting in her wheelchair, ask him if he was going to take a package upstairs. When he said yes, she asked if she could carry it. Lovingly Moorhouse said to his daughter, “Minnie dear, how can you possibly carry the package? You cannot carry yourself”.

Minnie smiled and said, “I know Papa, but if you will give me the package, I will hold it while you carry me”.

Immediately, Henry Moorhouse understood this as a picture of how God helps us. We may have a huge burden to carry, but we may hold the burden while God carries us. We can enjoy life because nothing is too heavy for the Everlasting Arms of God.
